About me

I’m Mats Ulenius — founder of Murbeaux and a lifelong lover of unique hotels.


For over 25 years, I’ve worked in travel and hospitality around the world. I’ve lived in Japan, Costa Rica, the U.S., Spain, Switzerland, and the UK — and now divide my time between Sweden and France.

Murbeaux is the travel agency I always wished existed: personal, experience-led, and devoted to hotels that feel like stories waiting to unfold. Many of the places I recommend are ones I’ve personally stayed at, giving me first-hand insight into what makes them special.
